Scholarship Award Ceremony

The Program Mistress of Ceremony was given by KWA Vice President, Sandra Englund. KWA Board Chair, Chong Dameron and KWA President, Yon Chong Eigelbach presented $1000.00 to each
Scholarship recipients: Joseph Kim from Clover Park High School ( Lakewood, WA ).

Joshep Kim from Clover Park High School. Joshep will be graduating with honors and and within the top 10 of his class in June, 2006. He is going to University of Washington, in September, 2006. He will be studying in mathematics and statistics. He had volunteer work for United Way of Pierce County: Youth Day of Caring 2006,and volunteer work for the Korean American Association of Tacoma. His participating in community service isn't because someone told him to do. He is only participating in community services because there are so many problems that exist not only in this local community of Tacoma, but in our golobal society as well.

Benjamin Rich from International Community School ( Kirkland, WA )

Benjamin Rich from Internation Community School. He had volunteer work in Co-Summit coordinator leader in Kirkland Youth Council since in 2003. He also had volunteer work for Sports Camp counselor, Boys and Girls Club. Assistant Mechanic, Cedar Park Church Auto Mechanics Ministry since 2002. He volunteered Teacher assistant for Mark Twain elementary School in 2003 to 2004 and he is helping tutor, Rose Hill elementary Shool. for set and lead by example, helping children 's homework, school projects and assisting ESL students. He received honorable mention in 2003 National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship(NFTE), Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Competition. He never missed a day of school from Kindergarten until sophomore year of high school. He is enrolled in AP chemistry, AP English Literature, Pre-calculus, Honors Comparative Government, Spanish Applications in International Community Schooll in Kirkland.

Dave Seon from Puyallup Senior High School ( Puyallup, WA ).

David Seon from Puyallup Senior High School, He volunteered as a Youth Group Leader and helping kids community work for the Puyallup School District Clulminating Project since October, 2005 to April 9th, 2006. He would like to pursue his goals into the field of international business using bilingual; Korean and English. He believes that helping communities will increase his value and pursue his goal for a successful international businessman and grow his leadership. His favorite role model is Oprah. Seone expressed that one of Oprah's TV show "She busts into tears saying thanks to people who joined to donations for African Children". He would like to be a cheerful giver and sharing joy like Oprah. David

KWA Sholarship committees carefully selected scholarship award receipients those who had the most experienced volunteer work for the communities among the students. Scholarship Commitees: OK Sun Wilson, Maria Hwang, Yon Chong Eigelbach, and Myung soon Hamilton. KWA President, Yon Chong Eigelbach was proud of their volunteering and work ethic gave the positive influence and inspiration to the communities and school. She emphasized that they continue to volunteer and succeed to keep the positive examples for the communities.
