KSEA National Mathematics and Science Competition 2007

KSEA National Mathematics and Science Competition 2007 was given on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Microsoft Conference Center Building in Redmond. .

It started at 11 AM Pacific Cost Time for 60 minuets for the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, grade and 90 minutes for the 9th, 10th, 11th grade. The National Level Awards will be announced 10 days after. But the KSEA Pacific Northwest chapter has announced the 4th to 11th and
The award ceremony opened at 3:00 PM. Special guest speaker, Consul General, Kwon Chan Ho encouraged young people to be innovative and logical in their thinking while supporting their desire to explore the world of science and math. Also Korean Women Association of Washington President, Sandra Englund was given a special remarks to the math contest participants that "The future of Washington State and our nation depends on young people with strong math and science skills." and she mentioned that They will be our next generation's technical leaders.

The Gold Award winners - The Washington State, Governor's Awards are as the following

Kevin Kim, 4th Grade from Mill Creek Elementary School.
Kyungmin Kim, 5th Grade from King's Elementary School.
Michelle Kim, 6th Grade from St. Lucke's
Dae Hong Kim, 7th Grade from Northshore, Junior High.
Chris Lim, 8th Grade from Evergreen Jr. High.
Joon Choi, 9th Grade from Kamiak High.
David Kim, 11th Grade from Seattle Lutheran High.

Also there were many other awards include Bronze awards which presented by
Cheryl Lee(Director for Community affiars), Family awards, Long Distance Awards, Sponsor awards from Sylvan Learning Center, and Sponsor Awards from Microsoft Drawing prizes.

Recently, The Washington State legislator has made math and science a priority, Beginning in 2008 the scholarship board will recommend full tuition scholarships for qualified young people who pursue degree in these fields.
