Independence Day Celebration

America’s 236th birthday, Independence Day, the Fourth of July which is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. For this year Independence Day celebrating is no difference as every year to celebrating everywhere nationwide with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States even the election campaignes are more effected on this independence day.

President candiate Mitt Romney also celebrating the independence day and expresses that It wasn't too long ago that the quiet heroes of this land walked tall with the pride of knowing that they lived in a country unlike no other. On this Independence Day, we celebrate that sense of American optimism and recommit ourselves to bringing that feeling back to us once again.

Here in Federal Way 4th of July celebration started at 8:30 AM with 5K tribute walk for Miles for Meso on Independence Day by fighting back against Mesothelioma which is for mesothelioma awareness and research which was hosted by the City of Federal Way for a memorial 5K Run/Walk to raise funds for awareness and research. The 5K begun at 8:30am and end at the Community Center, at 876 South 333rd Street, participants were 10 years and older. It is an advocacy initiative of the Simmons Mesothelioma Foundation, Miles for Meso seeks to bring local communities together and support research at the Celebration.The 5K is sponsored by the Federal Way Community Center, and inspired by local family members who’ve lost loved ones to the rare but aggressive form of cancer. Participants were run or walk the route which winds through Celebration Park and West Campus. This event is dedicated to the memory of Federal Way residents Dick Dyhrman, Bud Hatley and Bob Stewart who died from Mesothelioma.

later for the celebration 4th of july gathered over 10,000 citizens, City of Federal Way Mayor, Skip Priest, introduced Deputy Mayor Jim Ferrell, council members ( Linda Kochmar, Roger Freeman , and Dini Duclos, Susan Honda, and Bob Celski) and other officials ( Judge David A. Larson ,Judge Rebecca C. Robertson, Federal Way School District Board President, Tony Moore and Lake Haven Utility District, Council President, Len Englund) to the people and congratulatedd the exciting 4th of July, 236th anniversary Independence Day.

This was true occassion and opportunities to get to know people in town and explaning why are they working for the city and citizens an let them know about their responsibilities. Celebration was in everywhere, include the Seattle, Washington celeration, Vicci Martinez sings the National Anthem to kick off the 4th of July fireworks show at Gasworks Park on Lake Union in Seattle. The United States was founded by thirteen British colonies located along the Atlantic seaboard. On July 4, 1776, they issued the Declaration of Independence, which proclaimed their right to self-determination and their establishment of a cooperative union. The rebellious states defeated the British Empire in the American Revolution, the first successful colonial war of independence. The current United States Constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787; its ratification the following year made the states part of a single republic with a stronger central government.
