"The
Birth Of Christ"; a sacred Christmas Cantata composed and conducted
by Andrew T. Miller, was successful community event!
Playing
to a full house, Saturday, December 11th and Sunday, December 12th,
"The Birth Of Christ" filled St. Vincent de Paul Parish with
the joyful noise of Jesus birth, glory and praise. The event included
solo performances bySoprano: Amy Bils, Tenor; Rob McPherson,
Mezzo-Soprano:Sarah Mattox, Baritone: John B. Cooper, Tenor: Guy Bogar,
and Bass: Alan McEachern.
Narrators by Raymond Arroyo (EWTN News Director), and Jim and Jeanne
Burbidge (Federal Way City Council).
Part II of the concert included " The Many moods of Christmas "
Suit one by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett and assorted Christmas
carols was conducted by Conductor/Artistic Director, Don
Barrows. It was an exciting performance and left everyone feeling the
christmas spirit. And Mary Jean McDonald, Producer, continued to produce
The Birth Of Christ Concert happen and her effort was successful.
The
Birth of Christ will be broadcasting EWTN Comcast network on Christmas
eve.
Mr. Don Barrows dedicated as choir director, teacher, founder and conductor of the Federal Way Choir, and directed St. Vincent De Paul Church Choir director over 30 years of his dedication also Mr. Barrows dedicates his time to encouraging participation in musical culture also he has been dedicated and volunteered his time at the KIWANIS club for helping children and non profit organization for many years.
His dedication and passionate community support is very much appreciated by the communities and from many community leaders.
Don Barrows' doctor diagnosted that he has brain cancer. St. Vincent De Paul Choir members and many are hoping and keeping prayers for his recover with his special treatment in Maxico. Meanwhile, He will take 4-6 weeks an opportunity for a healing retreat; a time for prayer, meditation, and scripture reading.

Memorial Services and Reception May 31st, 2013 at 1:00 PM: St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Federal Way, Washington.
Mr. Barrows is one of the most respected local musicians, as a music teacher for middles school and high school including the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Adult choir music director for over 30 years. Mr. Barrows devoted his life not only music director but, also as a community leader which he has been served PNW district of Kiwanis International for many years which Kiwanis clubs focus on changing the world by serving children for primary school children; Builders Clubs for adolescents; Key Clubs for teens; CKI clubs for university students and Aktion Clubs for adults living with disabilities. Mr. Barrows holds many community appreciation awards including Governor’s Award in August 2012. His great personality, leadership, and his legacy will remain in our hearts.
Meanwhile, on May 31st, 2013, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church choir and his friends family all got together celebrated with Handel’s Messiah, Hallelujah Chorus and conveyed the hope and rejoice in God’s Kingdom of heaven during his memorial service in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church at 1:00 PM.
