Press Statement by
Malaysia Ministry of Transport,
April 2

Support for relatives of those on board MH370:

The Malaysian Government appreciates the importance of providing the relatives of those on board MH370 with accurate, up-to-date and verified information. Malaysia has also strived to ensure that Governments whose nationals were on board MH370 are fully briefed.

China had more nationals on board MH370 than any other country. Malaysia recognises its duty to provide the Government of China with verified information, which it can then use to brief the Chinese relatives of those on board MH370. Since MH370 went missing, Malaysia has been in constant communication with the Chinese authorities, at numerous levels of government, to ensure an accurate and timely flow of information. Since 8 March, Malaysia has provided the following members of the Chinese Government with full and thorough briefings:

H.E. Zhang Yesui, the Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Special Envoy of the Government of China.

H.E. Huang Huikang, the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia.

Officials from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

Officials from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID).

Members of the Chinese air force who have particular expertise in radar.

Malaysia also sent a delegation to Beijing led by Deputy Foreign Minister Dato’ Hamzah Zainudin, who met with his Chinese counterparts Vice Foreign Ministers Zhang Yesui and Liu Jian Chow.

Today’s briefing for the Chinese relatives:

According to Wall Street Journal Live, dated March 22nd, 2014, authorities are Continue to search for MH370 every possibility to investigate by the Australian Authority addressed by
Hishammuddin Husseing acting Malaysian Transport Ministerkk.

On March 24th, 2014, NBC News: Hishammuddin Husseing acting Malaysian Transport Ministerkk told a media briefing that  “A few minutes ago, the prime minister received a call from the prime minister of Australia who informed him that the Australian search aircraft had located two objects in the Australian search area, one circular and one rectangular,"  "HMAS Success is in the vicinity and it is possible that the objects could be received within the next few hours or possibly by tomorrow morning.”

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority confirmed that the crew on board a P-3 Orion aircraft "reported seeing two objects – the first a gray or green circular object and the second an orange rectangular object."

They were spotted around 1,550 miles southwest of Perth, Australia.

Speaking to Australia's Parliament, Abbott said: "We don’t know whether any of these objects are from MH370. They could be flotsam. Nevertheless we are hopeful that we can recover these objects soon and that they will take us a step closer to resolving this tragic mystery.".

A series of satellite images were released since  20 March 2014,  showing potential aircraft debris in the southern Indian Ocean, south west of Australia at the southernmost tip of the southern locus. This prompted increased search activity in the area. Aircraft from several of the nations involved in the search flew long-range sorties each day from RAAF Pearce near Perth, and ships were also searching, although none of the satellite sightings had been confirmed as originating from flight MH370. Searches also continued in the northern locus.

Media report shows that early search efforts generated multiple false leads.
An admiral of the Vietnamese Navy reported that radar contact with the aircraft was last made over the Gulf of Thailand.  Oil slicks detected off the coast of Vietnam on 8 and 9 March later tested negative for aviation fuel.  Alleged discovery of debris about 80 km (50 mi) south of Tho Chu Island on 9 March was also found to be not from an aircraft. Searches following a Chinese website's satellite images, taken on 9 March, showing three floating objects measuring up to 24 by 22 metres (79 ft × 72 ft) at 6.7°N 105.63°E also turned up blank;  Vietnamese officials said the area had been "searched thoroughly".

The Royal Thai Navy shifted its focus in the search away from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea at the request of its Malaysian counterpart, which was investigating the possibility that the aircraft had turned around and could have gone down in the Andaman Sea, near Thailand's border.

The chief of the Royal Malaysian Air Force, Rodzali Daud, claimed that military recordings of radar signals did not exclude the possibility of the aircraft turning back on its flight path. The search radius was increased from the original 20 nautical miles (37 km; 23 mi) from its last known position, south of Tho Chu Island, to 100 nautical miles (190 km; 120 mi), and the area being examined then extended to the Strait of Malacca along the west coast of the Malay Peninsula, with waters both to the east of Malaysia in the Gulf of Thailand, and in the Strait of Malacca along Malaysia's west coast, being searched.

On 12 March, 2014, authorities also began to search the Andaman Sea, northwest of the Strait of Malacca, and the Malaysian government requested help from India to search in the area.

On 13 March, 2014, the White House Press Secretary said "an additional search area may be opened in the Indian Ocean based on some new information" and a senior official at The Pentagon told ABC News: "We have an indication the plane went down in the Indian Ocean."  On 17 March, Australia agreed to lead the search in the southern locus from Sumatra to the southern Indian Ocean.  The search would be coordinated by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, with an area of 600,000 km2 (230,000 sq mi) between Australia and the Kerguelen Islands lying more than 3,000 kilometres (1,900 mi) from Perth to be searched by ships and aircraft of Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

It emerged on 17 March, 2014 that the last ACARS message at 01:07 did not mean the system was turned off at that moment, as had been previously suggested.  Malaysian authorities said ACARS had been switched off sometime between 01:07 and the next scheduled ACARS contact, due at 01:37.

On 20 March, the Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott, announced in parliament that two objects that might be related to the aircraft, one of them 24 m (79 ft) long, had been spotted by a satellite in the Indian Ocean on 16 March, 2,500 km (1,600 mi) south-west of Perth (coordinates 44°03′02″S 91°13′27″E), where the ocean depth could reach 5,000 metres (16,000 ft).

An Australian Lockheed P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft arrived in the area at 02:50 UTC. The Australian naval ship HMAS Success, Myanmar naval vessels, a United States Navy Boeing P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, two more Orions (one Australian and one from New Zealand), and a Lockheed C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft were also tasked to the area.  Two Chinese military Ilyushin Il-76 cargo aircraft joined the search the following day. and two Japanese Orions arrived at RAAF Base Pearce to assist. Civilian aircraft and ships started assisting in the search;

On 22 March, 2014, a Chinese satellite image was released, from four days earlier, of potential debris, at a location about 120 km (75 mi) south west of the area shown in the earlier images. The object's size was estimated at 22.5 m × 13 m (74 ft × 43 ft), at coordinates 44°57′29″S 90°13′43″E, near one of the 45×90 points approximately 3,170 km (1,970 mi) south west of Perth.

On 24 March, 2014, An Australian plane has spotted an "orange rectangular object" and a "gray or green circular object" while searching for missing Flight 370 in the southern Indian Ocean.

Malaysia PM Concerns
"deviated due to deliberate action,"

MH370 missing evidence is consistent with someone acting deliberately

Officials have indicated that the focus of search efforts will shift to large areas well west of the authorised flight path,  as investigators concluded that the aircraft headed west back across the Malay Peninsula and remained capable of flying for hours after first disappearing from radar.  As multiple sources of location data showed the plane intentionally changing course towards the Indian Ocean, concerns that the aircraft "deviated due to deliberate action," a sentiment echoed by Malaysia's Prime Minister: Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Sri Mohammad Najib Abdul Razak during a 15 March, 2014 press conference.

According to CNN, dated March 15th, 2014:

Malaysia PM addressed that evidence is consistent with someone acting deliberately from inside the plane,"which Investigators  expand search are as exponential

Prime Minister speaks taht Search widens to two corridors, including the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan border area and Investigators are no longer combing the South China Sea.

(CNN) -- A week after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 vanished, the investigation shifted to passengers and crew after data showed the plane deviated due to deliberate action, Prime Minister Najib Razak said Saturday.

"Malaysian authorities have refocused their investigation on crew and passengers aboard," Najib told reporters. "Evidence is consistent with someone acting deliberately from inside the plane."

Najib stopped short of calling it a hijacking, saying investigators have not made a final determination.

"Despite media reports that the plane was hijacked, we are investigating all major possibilities on what caused MH370 to deviate," he said.  See more detailed info via CNN

New Scientist reported that, prior to the aircraft's disappearance, two ACARS reports had been automatically issued to engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce's monitoring centre in the United Kingdom; and Wall Street Journal, citing sources in the US government, said that Rolls-Royce had received an aircraft health report every thirty minutes for five hours, implying that the aircraft had remained aloft for four hours after its transponder went offline.

The Malaysian transport minister said the following day that details of the Wall Street Journal report were inaccurate, stating that the final engine transmission was received at 01:07, prior to the flight's disappearance from secondary radar.

Follow-up reporting by Reuters suggested that a cessation of engine reports did not necessarily mean there was no evidence of continued flight; the evidence may have taken the form of "pings" sent by the aircraft's maintenance troubleshooting systems.

These merely indicated to the satellites that the engines were ready to communicate, although these transmissions were not telemetry reports.  The Wall Street Journal later removed references to Rolls-Royce from its report and stated that the belief of continued flight was "based on analysis of signals sent by the Boeing 777's satellite-communication link... the link operated in a kind of standby mode and sought to establish contact with a satellite or satellites.

These transmissions did not include data..."  On 13 March the White House Press Secretary said "an additional search area may be opened in the Indian Ocean" based on "some new information" and a senior official at The Pentagon told ABC News: "We have an indication the plane went down in the Indian Ocean."  Inmarsat said only that "routine, automated signals were registered" on its network although a company executive did add that "keep-alive message[s]" continued to be sent after air traffic control first lost contact and that these "ping signals" could be analysed to help estimate the plane's location.

Search Mission Continues

On 13 March, 2014

There are many media that may have been a number of false leads.

US officials have said they expect the search to be extended to the Indian Ocean, as their investigators have reviewed the possibility that the aircraft headed west back across the Malay Peninsula and remained capable of flying for another four hours after first disappearing from radar.

The New Scientist reported that prior to the aircraft's disappearance, two ACARS reports had been automatically issued to engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce's monitoring center in the United Kingdom; and a Wall Street Journal story, citing sources in the US government, said that Rolls-Royce had received an aircraft health report every thirty minutes for five hours, implying that the aircraft had remained in the air for four hours after its transponder went offline.

The Malaysian transport minister said details of the Wall Street Journal report were inaccurate during the next day's daily press briefing, stating that the final engine transmission was received at 01:07, prior to the flight's disappearance from secondary radar.

Follow-up reporting by Reuters suggested that a cessation of engine reports did not necessarily mean there was no evidence of continued flight as the evidence may have taken the form of "pings" sent by the aircraft's maintenance troubleshooting systems that indicated to satellites it was merely ready to communicate as opposed to sending reports.

The Wall Street Journal then corrected its story to drop references to Rolls-Royce and say that the belief of continued flight was "based on analysis of signals sent by the Boeing 777's satellite-communication link... the link operated in a kind of standby mode and sought to establish contact with a satellite or satellites. These transmissions did not include data..."

ABC Good Morning America Reports:

Mystery Surrounds Missing Malaysia Airlines Flight

U.S. officials said earlier that they have an "indication" the missing Malaysia Airlines  jetliner may have crashed in the Indian Ocean and is moving the USS Kidd to the area to begin searching.

It's not clear what the indication was, but senior administration officials told ABC News the missing Malaysian flight continued to "ping" a satellite on an hourly basis after it lost contact with radar. The Boeing 777 jetliners are equipped with what is called the Airplane Health Management system in which they ping a satellite every hour. The number of pings would indicate how long the plane stayed aloft.  It's not clear, however, whether the satellite pings also indicate the plane's location.

The new information has greatly expanded the potential search area into the Indian Ocean.

ABC Entertainment News | ABC Business News

CNN reports: automated reporting system on the airliner was pinging satellites for hours after its last reported contact with air traffic controllers. That makes some investigators think the plane flew on for hours before truly disappearing. Aviation experts say it's possible, if highly unlikely, that someone could have hijacked and landed the giant Boeing 777 undetected.

On 11 March, Reported that military radar indicated the aircraft turned west and continued flying for 70 minutes before disappearing near Pulau Perak; and that it was tracked flying at a lower altitude across Malaysia to the Malacca Strait. This last location is approximately 500 km (311 mi) from its last position in contact with air traffic control. However, the next day Rodzali Daud denied making the statements as reported in the media, requesting that the misreporting be "amended and corrected to prevent further misinterpretations of what is clearly an inaccurate and incorrect report". Vietnam scaled back its search operations to await clarification from Malaysia due to the conflicting reports.

According to DOD Jim Garamone American Forces Press Service  dated March 10th, 2014:

WASHINGTON, March 10, 2014 – The United States continues to assist the Malaysian government in the search for Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared the night of March 8 during a flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing.

The USS Pinckney and USS Kidd - Arleigh Burke-class destroyers - are on station in the Gulf of Thailand conducting search-and-rescue operations, Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman, told reporters today.

The ships are using a "creeping-line” search method, Warren said. The Pinckney investigated a possible debris field yesterday, he added, but it was not the missing aircraft.

Two MH-60R Seahawk helicopters are flying off the ships to aid the search, using forward-looking infrared pods to search at night. A P-3 Orion from Kadena Air Base, Japan, also is being employed in the search, Warren said. The Orion, operating in the western search area, brings long-range search, radar and communications capabilities to the efforts. It can loiter about nine hours at a time.

In addition, the USNS John Ericsson, a fleet replenishment oiler, is providing logistics support for the U.S. effort.

American ships are working with ships from Malaysia, China and Singapore in the search effort.

Air traffic controllers lost the signal about two hours after the Boeing 777-200 airliner took off with 239 people aboard.

Earlier reports of an oil slick in the Gulf of Thailand proved to not be from the aircraft, Malaysian aviation officials in Kuala Lumpur told reporters today.

On March 11, 2014 CNN reported that missing or Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 the Malaysian Air Force a top official told to CNN the plane was way off course when it was missing.  Air Force traced the Malaysian their first place the last sides on the plane to a very small island in the strait of Malacca if the Air Force information is correct, the plane was flying in the opposite direction from its scheduled destination. It was not on the route scheduled to fly from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to Beijing in China which make a lot to assess.   Meanwhile, CNN reports that it is not clear yet if this is pilot errors or if this is terrorists  acts or other factors are involved and further invistigations to  be done. see more detail via youtube:

There are 14 Nationalities those who are in suffer due to MH370 missing incident Including Three Americans, nationality of passengers and crew aboard Malaysia Airliners Flight 370 from Australia, Canada, China, France, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Taiwan, Ukraine, and United States also there are two unknown which the officials identified that two passports were stolen and unidentified later found two stolen passports were from two Iranians, one is 19 years old and another one is 29 years old. On March 9th, 2014, KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia welcomes assistance from other countries and international organisations in the search-and-rescue (SAR) operation for missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement which expressed its gratitude to the countries involved in the SAR operation namely Vietnam, China, the United States, Singapore and Philippines for deploying their assets to support and assist in the operation.

The government recognised the anguish and anxiety of the next-of-kin and family members of those on board the flight. The ministry would provide its fullest cooperation to the respective Foreign Missions in Malaysia whose nationals were passengers of Flight MH370.  An operations room had also been set up by the ministry and can be contacted at 03-88874570 or via email at dutyofficer@kln.gov.my, the statement added.

The SAR operation was launched on March 8th, 2014 after Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew, went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing about an hour after taking off from the KL International Airport at 12.40 am which should have landed in Beijing at 6.30am the same day.-- BERNAM

The Boeing 777 is generally regarded by aviation experts as having an "almost flawless" safety record,[58] one of the best of any commercial aircraft.  Since its first commercial flight in June 1995, there have only been two previous serious accidents. In January 2008, 47 passengers were injured when ice crystals in the fuel system of British Airways Flight 38 caused it to lose power and crash-land just short of the runway at London Heathrow Airport. In July 2013, Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crash-landed on final approach to San Francisco International Airport. Three passengers died and 181 were injured as a result of that accident.  Both aircraft were damaged beyond repair.

Flight 370 was operated by a Boeing 777-2H6ER, serial number 28420, registration 9M-MRO. The 404th Boeing 777 produced, it first flew on 14 May 2002, and was delivered new to Malaysia Airlines on 31 May 2002. The aircraft was powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 892 engines.

According to the airline, it had accumulated 53,460 hours and 7,525 cycles in service. 9M-MRO had not previously been involved in any major incidents, however, a minor incident while taxiing at Shanghai Pudong International Airport in August 2012 resulted in significant damage to one of its wingtips, which broke off after striking the tail of another airliner.  Its last maintenance check was in February 2014.

Search missions nations: Malaysia, Australia, China, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam are continue to in working deligently with 34 aircraft,  40 airships are involved  patrolling the area for South China Sea with plan lost contact with controllers.

Travel Passport is
becoming spotlight

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 investigation continues:

A search operation spotted suspected fragments of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, but they haven’t been recovered.

No Debris has been found from missing airliner and Oil Slick collected off Malaysia is not Jet Fuel, currently now, the Chinese Officials join effort to identify passengers with stolen passports. Due to Malaysia Airlines flight 370 is missing.

34 aircraft,  40 airships are involved  patrolling the area for South China Sea with plan lost contact with controllers. U.S. China, Australia,  Malaysia, Vetnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia nations are in the search.  The focus of investination to identifies for two passports.

The search continues, Deborah Kan, Wall Street Journal Live reports, but there's still no sign of the aircraft.

Speaking of Identification Security for preventing identification theft, A passport is a government-issued travel document that certifies the identity and nationality of its holder for the purpose of international travel. The elements of identity contained in all standardized passports include information about the holder, including name, date of birth, sex and place of birth.

A passport displays nationality, but not the place of residence of the passport holder. The passport holder is normally entitled to re-enter the country that issued the passport in accordance with the laws of that country, and in some instances of gaining a new citizenship, to enter that country for the first time.

One good example is homeland security of global security uses Biometrics which tracks automatically for true identification via bio scanning for individual identifications, Biometrics (or biometric authentication) refers to the identification of humans by their characteristics or traits. Biometrics is used in computer science as a form of identification and access control. It is also used to identify individuals in groups that are under surveillance.

Biometric identifiers are the distinctive, measurable characteristics used to label and describe individuals. Biometric identifiers are often categorized as physiological versus behavioral characteristics which related to the shape of the body. Examples include, but are not limited to fingerprint, face recognition, DNA, Palm print, hand geometry, iris recognition, retina and odour/scent. Behavioral characteristics are related to the pattern of behavior of a person, including but not limited to: typing rhythm, gait, and voice.

Some researchers have coined the term behaviometrics to describe the latter class of biometrics.

Many countries, including the United States, are planning to share biometric data with other nations. The following quotations are just for example of description which describes detail of why biometric data have been pursued:

In testimony before the US House Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Homeland Security on "biometric identification" in 2009, Kathleen Kraninger and Robert A Mocny commented on international cooperation and collaboration with respect to biometric data, as follows:

“To ensure we can shut down terrorist networks before they ever get to the United States, we must also take the lead in driving international biometric standards. By developing compatible systems, we will be able to securely share terrorist information internationally to bolster our defenses. Just as we are improving the way we collaborate within the U.S. Government to identify and weed out terrorists and other dangerous people, we have the same obligation to work with our partners abroad to prevent terrorists from making any move undetected. Biometrics provide a new way to bring terrorists’ true identities to light, stripping them of their greatest advantage—remaining unknown.”

According to an article written in 2009 by S. Magnuson in the National Defense Magazine entitled "Defense Department Under Pressure to Share Biometric Data" the United States has bi-lateral agreements with other nations aimed at sharing biometric data. To quote that article:

“Miller [a consultant to the Office of Homeland Defense and America's security affairs] said the United States has bi-lateral agreements to share biometric data with about 25 countries. Every time a foreign leader has visited Washington during the last few years, the State Department has made sure they sign such an agreement."

Maylaysia Airlines Flight 370

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370/MAS370, also designated under a codeshare agreement as China Southern Airlines flight CZ748/CSN748) is a missing since March 8th, 2014 international passenger flight operated by a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with 227 passengers and 12 crew members which total 239 were on board.

The flight departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport on 8 March at 00:41 Malaysia time (7 March, 16:41 UTC) and was scheduled to land at Beijing Capital International Airport at 06:30 (7 March, 22:30 UTC).

The aircraft ceased all communications and the transponder signal was lost just before it was to be passed off to the Ho Chi Minh Area Control Center.

Malaysia Airlines issued a media statement at 07:24 confirming that contact had been lost at 02:40 and that search and rescue operations had begun. The plane relayed no distress signal, indications of bad weather, or technical problems before vanishing from radar screens.  When radar contact with the aircraft was lost, it was carrying enough fuel for an additional 7.5 hours of flying time. Relevant authorities in China and Thailand informed their Malaysian counterparts that the aircraft had not entered their airspace.

The Aviation Herald website reported that Subang Air Traffic Control lost radar and radio contact with the aircraft at 01:22 and officially advised Malaysia Airlines at 02:40 that the aircraft was missing. However, a Malaysia Airlines spokesperson said that the last conversation between the flight crew and air traffic control in Malaysia had been around 01:30, and stated that the plane had not disappeared from air traffic control systems in Subang until 02:40, which is long enough for the plane to have been flying across Vietnam.  ATC requested another Malaysia Airlines flight, this one en route to Japan and about half an hour ahead of MH370, to try to contact the unresponsive 777. The captain established contact with the crew of MH370 just after 01:30, but could not hear them clearly, describing them as "mumbling".

Flight 370 departed Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at 00:41 on 8 March 2014 (MST; UTC+8) for a scheduled six-hour flight to Beijing, China. Reports indicate that Subang Air Traffic Control Centre lost contact with the plane at 01:22, while it was over the Gulf of Thailand, and the plane was reported missing at 02:40. A joint search-and-rescue effort was being conducted by American, Chinese, Filipino, Malaysian, Singaporean and Vietnamese authorities which Boeing has announced on March 8th, 2014 that Boeing will join U.S. National Transportation Safety Board  (NTSB) Team as a Technical Advisor.  Meanwhile, The National Transportation Safety Board has a team of investigators en route to Asia to be ready to assist with the investigation of the March 8 Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 event. According to Wall Street Journal Live, Two Large Oil Slicks spotted approximately location of possible oil slicks Tho Chu Island which had suspected fragment on Saturday by Vietnamese Air Force Kuala Lumpur, Jack Maxtwell reported although it is not sure that if this oil slicks spots are came from missing aircraft. Also it has not been confirmed yet if the aircraft is crashed or where the aircraft is disapeared although there have been reported.

The Vietnamese government initially reported that the aircraft had crashed at sea in the Gulf of Thailand, although the airline denied this claim, and the claim about the known location of the aircraft by the Vietnamese Navy was rejected by Malaysian Minister of Transport, Hishammuddin Hussein. The Vietnamese Navy later clarified that the admiral had actually been referring to the location where contact was last made, rather than indicating a crash site.

When asked whether terrorism was suspected, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said authorities were "looking at all possibilities".

United States officials are currently investigating the possibility that terrorism led to the disappearance of the aircraft, with focus on two passengers who were using false identities.

United States officials are currently investigating the possibility of terrorism. Two passengers on board the missing plane are suspected to have boarded using stolen passports. A leading aviation safety expert also said that it was “extraordinary” that the pilots of the jetliner did not have time to make a distress call. US officials said they were checking into passenger manifests and going back through intelligence.

Officials told NBC News that they had found no clear link to terrorism, and that there are other criminal reasons - for example drug smuggling - that stolen passports might be used to board a plane. "We are aware of the reporting on the two stolen passports." an unnamed senior official said. "We have not determined a nexus to terrorism yet, although it's still very early, and that's by no means definitive."
