Chicago born has been elected as the 267th successor of Saint Peter.
Cardinal Prevost was the leader of the Vatican's office
for the Castries bishops, the Vatican City Council for bishops.
He is, someone who spent many years, as bishop in Peru, as a missionary
in Peru. He is Bishop of Chiclayo.
In Peru, He was the leader of the Augustinian Order, which is a worldwide religious order.
He, is known as an experienced and wise leader who can bring together people from, different points of view.
I can see the Cardinal Cupich from Chicago, who looks quite happy with the news.
This is really, an extraordinary moment.

In accordance with ancient custom, for nine consecutive days particular celebrations of the Eucharist will be held in memory of the deceased Roman Pontiff, starting with the funeral Mass. These celebrations are open to all. However, each day they will involve the participation of a different group, taking into account its links with the Roman Pontiff. This variety of assemblies shows, in a certain way, both the scope of the ministry of the Supreme Pastor and the universality of the Church of Rome (cf. Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis, nos. 124-125). * * * The funeral Mass of the Roman Pontiff Francis, the first day of the Novendiali, will take place on 26 April 2025 at 10.00, on the parvis of Saint Peter’s Basilica. In the subsequent days, the celebrations of the Novendiali in memory of the late Pope will continue as follows:
