SooJin Lee Torrigiotti hopes
to Fly the New Boeing 787 to Seoul Soon!

SooJin Lee Torrigiotti received her MA in voice at the National Conservatory of Milan in Italy. She won the National Voice Competition, sponsored by the Korean Council of Music in Seoul, Korea. In Italy, she won the Verona International Voice Competition and the European Finalist of the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition.

Since debuting as Mimi in Opera La Boheme in Italy, she has appeared in many Operas. She has performed on radio and television throughout Europe. Since moving to the US, she has performed at various recitals in Minneapolis, Seattle and Tacoma.

She is a regular performer in the annual Meany Hall concert of UW by the Korean Musicians' Association and currently teaches voice and piano in Federal Way. Recently, She has performed at Meany Hall, Seattle in October 9th, 2004: Famous Duet from Act 2 Soprano: Violetta & Baritone: Germont from opera La Traviata composed by G. Verdi. She is wellknown singer among Korean American communities.

She visited Seoul Korea in July 10, 2004. She remembers that The Boeing Company decided to build 787 final assembly in Puget Sound, Washington. SooJin Lee Torrigiotti is hope to fly the new Boeing 787 to Seoul soon. She mentioned that there are more than 100,000 Korean American living in Washington. Many of her friends and relatives are hoping to fly to Korea on a Korean flagship Boeing 787 someday soon.

There are three different 787 Dreamliners: Boeing 787-3 Dreamliner, 787-8 Dreamliner, and 787-9 Dreamliner. The Boeing Dreamliner is a super-efficient airplane with new passenger-pleasing features. It features a wing and structure optimized for shorter-range flights. It will bring the economics of large jet transports to the middle of the market, using 20 percent less fuel than any other airplane of its size. Assembly starts in 2006, First flight will be in 2007, and Certification/Entry into service will be in 2008.

It is positive to see that Boeing's 787 is being developed New fuel-efficient engines and more lightweight composites with great cargo spaces. Boeing's 787 will be the industry's first jetliner with a nearly all-composite airframe and latest high technology.
