Singapore Airlines choose The most fuel Efficiency Boeing Airplanes.
The Wall Street Journal, in a story published Friday, reported
that Singapore Airlines has decided to go with Boeing and will
soon order more than $10 billion of widebody jets, mostly 787s
and 777s. The Journal said the total order could be for as many
as 80 planes with options for another 30. Although Singapore
Airlines is a big fan of the 777, it has not yet ordered the
777-200LR, which will be the longest-range jetliner when it
enters commercial service in early 2006. The 777-200LR recently
set a nonstop distance record.
The

Boeing agreed to the higher-weight version
of the 787 in late September (ATWOnline
Oct. 3) and Emirates held off committing to the A350-9
while trying to convince the US manufacturer
to build the 787-10. Emirates President
Tim Clark told ATWOnline at the A380 Reveal nearly a
year ago that "we have told Boeing we
want [the 787-10]."
December, 22nd, 2005: Boeing Commercial
CEO, president, Alan Mulally, in an interview with the Seattle
Post-Intelligencer on Monday, disclosed that Boeing will add
a fourth member to the 787 family. The 787-10 will be a stretch
of the 787-9, which is scheduled to enter service in 2010.
Boeing Commercial Vice President,
Mike Bair said the 787-10 could seat from 290 to 310 passengers.
Emirates, the fast-growing airline
of the United Arab Emirates,
has been after Boeing to develop the 787-10. Qantas,
which recently announced it will order a combination of 65 787-8s
and 787-9s, is also interested in the 787-10.
787-10 Dreamliner is definitely bigger
than the Airbus
A350-900. The
Airbus has
said the A350-900
will seat about 300 passengers.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong's CR Airways said
today that it has agreed to buy a number of Boeing 737-800 and
787 passenger jets. The airline said it would sign an agreement
with The Boeing Co. on Tuesday but declined to confirm a report
in The South China Morning Post that the deal would involve
30 737-800s and 10 787s at
a list price of $3 billion. The planes would be used
to expand services to mainland China, the newspaper said. CR
Airways primarily offers charter flights to mainland China and
regional destinations. The company's Web site says it was founded
in 2001. If confirmed, the deal would add to Boeing's burgeoning
list of orders for the 787.
SEATTLE, Dec 13, 2005:
Boeing and Qantas are finalizing an agreement that will include
orders for 45 Dreamliners, with 20 options plus purchase rights
for an additional 50 airplanes. The announcement by Qantas is
the largest to date for the Dreamliner in terms of the total
package.
"Today, we continue the program that is
setting the airline's course of the future," said Geoff
Dixon, CEO of Qantas Airways. "With our
unique geographic challenges, we need all the advantages we
can take to compete effectively against some of the industry's
toughest. The 787 family will help us provide increased or new
services by Qantas and Jetstar to 15 destinations and to destinations
which we cannot currently profitably serve."
"Our relationship with Qantas dates to
the very start of the jet age, and we're thrilled to see that
relationship continue with the 787," said Alan Mulally,
president and CEO, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "The
787 is a game-changer for airline profitability and for passenger
comfort. Qantas' evaluation was particularly rigorous, and we
welcome this endorsement and opportunity to be part of Qantas's
future."

787 Dreamliners with an option for the purchase of one
additional airplane. The first 787 is scheduled for delivery

signed in July, 2005, by Boeing Commercial Airplanes President
and CEO Alan Mulally. "We applaud Royal
Air Maroc's leadership and vision in ordering the 787 and bringing
the world's most technologically advanced and efficient airplane
into its fleet," Mulally
said. "Chairman
Berrada heads up a world-class team and we're proud to
build upon our strong relationship with RAM and know that the
Dreamliner will further enhance RAM's reputation for overall
excellence."

and CEO, explained: "The advantages the Boeing 787 brings

while bringing the utmost in comfort to our passengers traveling
from here and abroad."
DUBAI, Nov. 21, 2005
: 20 787 Dreamliners with four additional options. The
order is valued at approximately $2.7 billion at list prices.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in January 2010. "The
787 will meet the demand we expect from our airline customers
for the breakthrough passenger comforts and operating efficiencies
of the Dreamliner," said Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, chairman
and chief executive officer – ILFC. "This
also adds the newest member of the Boeing product line to our
fleet, building on our nearly 30-year partnership with Boeing
as the largest lessor of Boeing airplanes."
"This is
a great day for the 787 and our partnership with ILFC," said
Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and Chief Executive Officer
Alan Mulally. "To
have this leading global lessor choose the 787 is a bellwether
endorsement for the industry and for the passenger appeal of
our newest airplane. The Dreamliner is the market leader because
it provides what passengers and airlines want, superior value
and passenger comfort that will allow travelers to go where
they want to go, when they want to go, efficiently and affordably."
Oct. 27, 2005: Air New Zealand has placed an
additional order for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, adding two airplanes

787 Dreamliner clearly will be an important part of Air New
Zealand's future," said Rob Fyfe, CEO of Air New Zealand
. "We look forward to its economic benefits
and the opportunity to differentiate ourselves from competitors
with a truly cutting edge product that passengers will appreciate."
Air New Zealand's new 787s will
be powered by new, high-technology Rolls Royce
Trent 1000 engines.

partnership with Air New Zealand," said Larry Dickenson,

LOT Polish Airlines today reached
an agreement for up to 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, making LOT
the first global network carrier in Europe to operate the world's
newest and most technologically advanced commercial jetliner.
"Replacing our Boeing 767s with the
all-new 787 allows us to lead with new and innovative passenger-comfort
features on our North Atlantic operations and will be key in
opening new Asian destinations," said LOT President
and Chief Executive Marek Grabarek. "The

and profitability strategies."

Air Maroc selected the 787 because of its unmatched capability
and value after a thorough analysis,” said Mounir. “We look
forward to working closely with Royal Air Maroc to bring the
efficient, reliable, comfortable and quiet 787 into service."
Royal Air Maroc's Board of Directors
agreed to purchase the Boeing 787s on July 29, following a long
and well-defined competition that had been extended on two occasions.
After declaring the tender to be clear and transparent, RAM's
Board of Directors instructed the airline to directly engage
Boeing in negotiations for the purchase of the 787 as the best
solution for its long-haul fleet.
The airline
noted the distinct advantages of the 787 that will allow it
to operate more profitably with lower fuel burn, while providing
its passengers the Dreamliner's unique comfort and interior
enhancements. The lower weight, superior
strength and maintenance advantages of the 787's composite fuselage
allows for higher humidity inside the cabin, larger windows,
better air filtration and lower cabin altitude, which translates
to more comfort and a physiologically less stressful trip for
passengers.
