Woo-Ri Fund Raising Dinner was given at King County Aquatic
Center: 650 SW Campus Dr. Federal Way, Washington, April 9, 2005, 6:00
PM to 8:00 PM. This event was coordinated by
Tacoma
- Washington State Korean American AssociationPresident,
Patty Kim, and Seattle-Washington State Korean American Association
President, Young M. Shuhr.
The keynote Speaker by Senator Paull Shin.
It was meaningful and encouraged everyone for cultural exchange with
pride. He encouraged that many people to support and participate this
event. Guest Speakers by Consul General
of the Republic of Korea: Kim Jae-Gouk, City of Federal Way Council,
Michael Park, Tacoma-Washington State Korean American Association, President,
Patty Kim, and Seattle-Washington State Korean American Association
President, Young M. Shuhr.
The Workshop movie presented by Daniela.
It was successful event and positive out come. Especially when Consul
General Kim Je Gouk influenced the audiances to donate more like saying
"if you wrote $300.00 change to $800.00 for a donation check, if
you wrote $400.00 you may want to change to $1400.00". He also
emphasized that "honor and reflect the Korean culture and is wonderful
to see that the City of Federal Way and State of Washington encourage
to exchange Korean Culture. It is wonderful to see that exchange. Consul
General, Kim Je Gouk was very proud and hopes to see continuous exchange
Korean with U.S.A. It was a wonderful and positive event.
Han Woo-Ri Northwest Korean Sports and Curtural Festival will be given
in May 13 to May 15, 2005 in Federal Way SeaTac Mall front of the Sears
Company and throughout the Federal Way City area and Auburn. For Sports:
Tae Kwon Do, Football(Soccer), Golf: Golf Tournament: Mayor's Cup, will
be given in May 14th, Washington National Golf Course in Auburn. Han
WooRi Walk-A-Thon: will be presented by te Korea Times in Saturday,
May 14, 9:15 AM, from the Festival Village to Celebration Park and back.
Arts & Culture: Korean Music and Dance, Contemporary Korean Film:
Ariran: The Korean-American, Journey, Sky Blue, Addict, Doo Doo, Lee,
and Woman in the Attic, Showcase, Bonsai Tours will be given in Weyerhaeuser
by Korean Bonsai master, Su Hyung Yoo. Trade Day: A one-day trade seminar
will include workshops on how to do business in Korea and Washington,
with keynote speakers from the international business community and
organized tours of participating local companies.
There will be an Opening Gala sponsored by The Korea Daily, Thursday,
May 12, 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The Gala will be joined by dignitaries,
business & community leaders. The Gala will have dinner and entertainment
to celebrate the opening night of the inaugural Northwest Korean Sports
& Cultural Festival in Federal Way. (Ticket information call 1-866-468-7630,

The festival will be given in May 13, Friday to Sunday May 15, 11, AM
to 5:00 PM.
Ticketed Performances will be Han Woo-Ri Festival Opening night Gala
- Thursday, May 12, 6 to 9:30 PM, Goo-oun Mong & Gangwon Provincial
Arts Group, Balkwang & Goo-Oun Mong, and Contemporary
Korean Film Showcase Wednesday, May 11 & Sunday, May 15, Show time
will be at 4:00 Pm and 7:00 PM ($5).
The location and directions: Han Woo-Ri Festival Village (Sears Parking
Lot at The Commons at Federal Way). - 1928 S. Commons, Federal Way,
WA 98003. The Commons at Federal Way (formerly SeaTac Mall) is located
in downtown Federal Way, 20 miles south of Seattle on I-5 at 320 th
Street (Exit 143).
It
is free admission but evening performances and tournaments are ticketed.
