Company Grants $25,000 for October 31st, 2008, The Boeing awarded $25,000 check to the KWA to support the KWA International Place. KWA International Senior Place is for the Senior Low income housing and have 55 one bedroom units. The seniors are age 62 and up. This grant will be using for the KWA International Place computer lab and furnishing the furniture. KWA is A Multi-cultural/Multi-Lingual Community Services Agency Since 1972. The Boeing Company believes the Communities are included among the company's key stakeholders in the management model that guides how the Boeing do business for the global world. In the early 1980s the Korean Women's Association began to expand its services to meet the needs of Asian Pacific Islander immigrants and refugees, especially those with language and cultural barriers. In the late 1980s the KWA reached out to the general public to assist the poor, elders, low-income families, disabled individuals, immigrants, refugees and persons. Today KWA offers a multifaceted program of services tailored to minority populations, yet available to all in Pierce, Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, Shelton, King County, Federal Way, Snohomish county, and Olympia, residents. The Korean Women's Association of Washington State has emerged as Pierce County's leader in innovative programs designed to enhance the quality of life for Asian Pacific Americans and other minority citizens in the Northwest. Many minorities face barriers of racism, language, poverty and vulnerability, and struggle with a limited understanding of and access to available services.KWA provides a helping hand, protection, and a pathway to inclusion and full participation in community life. Boeing has achieved several consecutive launches, beginning with the formal launch of the 787 for delivery to All Nippon Airways and Air New Zealand. It is continue to grow for the most fuel efficency airplane along with 777, 747-200 and up , 767, and 737 Boeing Commercial and defense. The Boeing Comapany is Continue to applying highest technology around the world. Boeing also received the launch contract from the US Navy for the P-8 Multimission Maritime Aircraft, an anti-submarine warfare patrol aircraft. Several orders for the Wedgetail AEW&C airplanes are expected as well. In October 1 - Boeing announced that an international consortium of 10 NATO members, joined by Partnership for Peace nations Sweden and Finland, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Sept. 24 to acquire three Boeing C-17 Globemaster III long-range cargo jets. The agreement sets the stage for NATO's first major defense purchase in 30 years. The Boeing Defense The Boeing Integrated Defense Systems strategy is to understand the enduring needs of customers and provide value-added solutions to meet their requirements. KWA offers the best in ethnic-based programming, providing children through seniors with opportunities for socialization and integration with people of similar interest, backgrounds and languages. KWA also just received $10,000 donation from Wal-Mart Supercenter in Federal Way and the check was presented to Lua Pritchard , Executive Director and Maria Hwang, KWA Board Chair in October 29th, 2008 to support the Korean Women's Association Youth services. It also owns and operates the North American company, Sam's Club.
