The incident happened on September 25th, 2012.  Margie Englund, Ballou Jr High School Security, saved One of Ballou Jr High School Girls who was choking in the lunchroom at Puyallup's Ballou Jr. High school.  Margie sprung into action immediately upon learning of the girl's distress and got her breathing again using the Heimlich maneuver when she found that she wasn't breathing and chocking in school Cafeteria and one of the student screamed for help. Margie then saved her life in less than 10 seconds with using the Heimlich maneuver.

The Heimlich Maneuver is done to treat a conscious choking victim by forcing air quickly up the throat from the lungs to force the obstruction out.  Here is some tips how to that you can see for home Remedies & Treatments: Heimlich Maneuver Tips  by Captain Joe Bruni  who has over 30-years experience as a street firefighter and company officer via Youtube:

According to the American Heart Association, approximately 3000 deaths occur each year from choking. Choking occurs when an object blocks your airway. The airway is a tube located in your neck that brings oxygen into your lungs.

The most common object that obstructs the airway is food. Meat and hotdogs are the primary culprits, but any food can become lodged. Other common objects include balloons, small toys and pieces of children's jewelry.

Common factors that contribute to adult's choking include: eating too fast and not properly chewing food which elevated alcohol levels, and "eating on the go." Older people may choke because of poor fitting dentures, swallowing disorders, or other physical problems. In children, choking often occurs during playtime and snack-time, when eating is less supervised and unstructured.
