WAITING
TO HEAR BOEING'S DECISION ON DREAMLINER 7E7
In Seattle, Washington, many business owners are relying on the Boeing
Company. Mrs. Bae Oya Restaurant's owner said that her business is
very slow and worries she may have to sell, even though business is
slow. It is tough to sell when no one wants to buy. The Boeing Company
laid off 35000 employees since September 2001. Mrs. Chae who owns
a meat shop, she also worries about her income. It has dropped by
50 percent and the restaurant owners could not pay their bills. Some
restaurant owners have gone to other states without paying their bills
to the meat shop. Both these folks are hoping to have the 7E7 Airplane
built in Puget Sound, Washington.
We would hate to see The Boeing Company move out of State. We know
Governor Gary Locke and other government officials are doing their
best to help improve Washington's economics outlook. They put so much
efforts to landing the Boeing 7E7 final assembly in our state. A statewide
alliance includes the many people, communities, and organizations
that are supportive of Boeing and who want to keep Boeing building
airplanes in Washington.
In my opinion, I believe the Boeing 7E7 Airplane will be the best
product in going.
Governor
Locke has worked together with legislations to pass legislation in
support of rail-barge facility to serve the Boeing Everett plant.
He asked the Legislature to provide $16 million in state funds for
this critical dock. Hope these efforts bring a positive return.
The Washington Workforces and career centers are doing the best by
retraining the laid off workers. In addition, many Vendors and Suppliers
are ready to start building the 7E7 Airplane in Puget Sound, Washington.
If the Puget Sound gets the bid, I believe it will have a significant
impact on the Puget Sound, economy and will bring back many businesses
to the region.
Including myself, there are so many people praying, hoping, and anxious
to have The Boeing 7E7 final assembly in Puget Sound, Washington.
We have to wait until the end of the year to hear Boeing's decision
for the Dreamliner 7E7.
We would like to see those jobs here in Washington. We hope to keep
building the best aircraft in the world right here in Washington.
Skilled workers are here, infrastructure is here, technologies are
here and Boeing's legacy is here. To loose Boeing would be like loosing
a family member.
