Per
President's Remarks to the Press Pool Coffee Station Crawford,
Texas 12:30 P.M. CST,Dated,
November 26, 2004; Question
was given to President, George Bush as the following: Today
the World Trade Organization finalized or approved sanctions the
European Union will have against the United States, $150 million
worth of sanctions for the Byrd amendment. Do you have any comments
on that?
PRESIDENT
George Bush answered: Well, we've worked hard to comply
with the WTO. I think it's important that all nations comply with
WTO rulings. I'll work with Congress to get into compliance. As
you might remember, we worked on the FISC/ETI bill because of
the WTO ruling. We expect the WTO, as well, to treat our trading
partners as they treat us. And that's why, for example, I filed
complaint on the Airbus situation. We
believe that the subsidies for Airbus are unfair for U.S. companies,
such as Boeing.(1)
We
the citizens hope and pray to see positive ending as soon as possible
for a long time EU Airbus subsidies
and unfair global marketing.
The Boeing Company has been put up too long with EU's Government
subsidies. We hope and pray that Bush Administration recognizes
not
only ending EU Airbus Subsidies and
but, also the
Boeing Company needs Economic healing support along with U.S.A.
Economic recover......Airbus has
been dominated too long with unfair global marketing for
the Boeing Company and many other industries in U.S.A...etc...
According
to Boeing News dated January, 11, 2005: U.S and EU will discuss
to ending subsidies for fair balance in the commercial aircraft
market without provide
additional development and production support and to refrain from
pursuing WTO litigation during the time they are negotiating.
In
addition to ending subsidies, The
Boeing Company President
and Chief Executive Officer, Harry Stonecipher, also welcome the
expressed intent to incorporate into an agreement transparency
and strong dispute-settlement procedures.
Boeing
will continue to support and work with the U.S. government during
the negotiations, and looks forward to ending positive result.(3)
President, George W. Bush (in
May 7, 2001) pursued The United States
and the European Union share the largest bilateral trade and investment
relationship in the world, accounting for over $1.5 trillion. In order to ensure that this critically
important economic relationship continues to thrive, President
Bush and his EU counterparts established in 2002 the "Positive
Economic Agenda" to advance bilateral cooperation to reduce
trade frictions and foster expanded transatlantic commerce.
(2)
It
is positive to see that President, George Bush concerns and provide a useful vehicle for ensuring that European legislation
not impede US
participation in European capital markets.
He is well aware of EU subsidies has not been fair for
the Boeing Company for a long time.....(Per
The White House For Immediate Release Office of the Press Secretary,
August 13, 2004, President
George Bush addressed that "Airbus was founded about 30 years
ago and has received, in those 30 years, large government subsidies
from European nations, and continues to receive them. And I think
those subsidies are unfair.")(4 ).
President George Bush expects fair balance
and positive output for during the negotiations like WTO to treat
our trading partners as they treat U.S.
Per
seattlepi.nwsource.com, The Bush administration would still be
prepared to go ahead with a WTO case if the negotiations did not
produce a satisfactory settlement to end subsidies.
President, Goerge Bush is planning to visit the EU head office
in Brussels, Belgium, on Feb. 22.
2005.
Senator
Murray and other members of Congress, and Rep.
Jay Inslee, D-Wash, have
long complained that Airbus receives billions in cash advances
to pursue virtually risk-free products development.
Airbus continues to use this enormous subsidy to distort the international
market for large commercial aircraft. It is becoming more critical
issues that U.S. must end direct subsidies to Airbus to restore
a competitive balance in large commercial aircraft trade whether
through these negotiations or a trade case at the World Trade
Organization.
It
is positive to see Senators, Officcials,
and President continue
to be involved concerns for commercial aerospace issues and work
together for United States America better.
Hope the serious
talk EU to stop EU Airbus subsidies
as soon as possble and make the global market harmonized the world by
the fair marketing for Boeing Company and affected many other industries......The World Best Boeing's
new 787 Dreamliner should stays with the world global marketing
fairness.
The Boeing Company
stays what it's true value of the competition in the large commercial
aircraft market without disrupted by "Airbus' refundable launch
aid and subsidies by their Government".
