Asia Pacific Cultural Center 12th Annual New Year Celebration

The India will take the center of stage at the 12th Annual Asia Pacific New Year Celebration. "BEAUTY OF INDIA" program which organized by Anita Walia, lead organizer for Asia Pacific Cultural Center’s New Year Celebration.

The Celebration will be at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall, from 11:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Tacoma, Washington. The exciting event will be held next week Saturday, February 13, 2010, which the Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) hosts the 12th Annual Asia Pacific New Year's Celebration.

You will be able to experience and learn about the different cultures and vast diversity of the Asia Pacific region, through song, music, and traditional dances. Throughout the day, children can participate in educational games, storytelling, and hands-on activities. Over 60 booths will display handsome arts and crafts, while the food court offers tantalizing fare from India, Korea, China, Japan, and Polynesia. This year's celebration also features a 2 hour performing arts showcase on India, featuring local and internationally known artists.

The India showcase will open on the main stage at noon with Vadya Vrinda, a Seattle-based group performing popular raga-based Marathi and Hindi songs, while blending classical instruments like the santoor and sitar with the harmonium and tabla.

This celebration purpose is to increase awareness of Asia Pacific cultures.

The Washington State is the fastest growing minority population is in many ways the least visible 250,000 of Asian Americans heritage. It is the tourist attraction annual event in Tacoma Dome, Washington State for the cutural event which is FREE admition.
