The
Tortoise & the Hippo's Lesson
"Acceptance!"
According
to Indian Express, India: Agent France
-Press NAIROBI, dated January 6: A baby hippopotamus that survived the
tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong bond with a giant
male century-old tortoise, in an animal facility in the Port city of
Mombasa.
The
hippopotamus, nicknamed Owen and weighing about 300 kilograms, was swept
down Sabaki river into the Indian ocean, then forced back to shore when
tsunami struck the Kenyan coast on December 26, before rangers rescued
him.
''It
is incredible. A-less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a male tortoise,
about a century old, and the tortoise seems to be very happy with being
a 'mother','' ecologist Paula Kahumbu, who is in-charge of Lafarge park,
told AFP.
''After
it was swept away and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized. It
had to look for a surrogate mother. It landed with the tortoise and
established a strong bond. They swim, eat and sleep together... The
hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it follows its mother. If
somebody approaches the tortoise, then it becomes aggressive,'' she
said. - PTI. (1)
What
a wonderful story! All creatures, such a precious to the world. Sometimes,
animals can show the great example to mankind…… It
is a great lesson to all of us; I took it as Acceptance!
and Be humble yourself like a century
old Tortoise. How humble a male tortoise looks being a mother to Hippo,
Owen seems very comfortable and happy with him.
I
have learned more beautiful stories than I ever seen
since Indian
Ocean Earthquake
and tsunamis.
The world is outpouring support and working together,
Share one another, children are showing their heart
of gold, people are more appreciative
what they have, safe and alive, and precious
animals showing us "Acceptance!"
..... It is positive to see the beautiful stories going
around the world regardless the nature circled around
for her time......
You
never know what the nature will teach us..........as The
Circle Goes on and on......
