Chinese New Year at The Asia Pacific Cultural Center!!
8th Annual Asia Pcific New Year Celebration was given at the Tacoma
Dome Exhibition Hall on Saturday, February 11, 2006, 9 Am to 9 PM.
This year, featured by Japan - Matsuri - cultures and traditions of
the Americans of Japanese heritage.

Opening Performances opened by MC: Nancy Calos- Nakano, Opening with
storyteller, Kimono procession by Kabusi Academy, Performances by Cherry
Blossom Singers: laido demonstration by Moki Yoshkawa, Shamisen by Kabuki
Academy, Yusin Daiko, Masaye Okano Nakagawa, and Bon Odori were wonderful
include interactive cutural crossroad between local and international
communities: by showcasing performances: CLC fine dancing team, Hyun
Sook Yi, Roosevelt Dancers by Cam Foreman, Island Guahan Cultural Dancers,
Joanne Sanchez, Korean folk Dancer School, Savanah Flaspler, Hula Xpression,
Mile Cruz, Halau Hula O Na Kama'Aina O Ka Pakipika, Pani Cruz, The Payo
(The Pilipino American Youth Organization), and Gussie Jagod, Ka Liko
A'E O Lei Lehua, Claire Cortez. In the mean time, the Interactive cutural
crossroad between local and international communities by providing the
educational activities like How to wear Kimono, Japanese Embroidery,
Temari Ball and Sumo Robat , Origami,
Your name in Chinese, Chinese Knotting, Chinese Tea drinking, and Philipines
Paper Star.
These activities kept busy for celebrating Chinese new Year together
and providing many Asia and Pacific Heritage exchanging with American
culture.
