Mother's Day Celebration at
Tacoma KWA Asian Pacific Senior Community Center (May
10th, 2006)
and Snohomish Asian Pacific Community Center (May 11th, 2006)
KWA Board and Officers celebrated Mother's Day Event
in Tacoma KWA Community Center on May 10, 2006 and Snohomish Asian Pacific
Senior Community Center on May 11, 2006. KWA presented 350 gift certificates
in Tacoma KWA Community Center and 215 gift Certificates in Snohomish
Asian Pacific Senior Community Center for FL oz,100 percent pure sesame
oil to each one of them for their self cooking activities. KWA also
performed sing a long time with the senior citizens. Special guest speaker
was given by Consul General Chanho Kwon on May 10, 2006 in Tacoma KWA
Community Center. He made remark that everyone should have as many as
friends and visit families as often as they can and involve community
activities. He also encouraged to use Internet chat or e-mail contact
to make their life active and addressed that "Involving community
event or involving activities, will be able to strengthen their life
and should be able to extend longer life and gives motivation to their
life". He also expressed that he would like to visit the senior
citizens as often as he can and spend time together. Consul General
joined lunch together with the Senior Citizens and had tour KWA office
and KWA Senior Citizen's Apartment in Tacoma. Consul General Chanho
Kwon praised KWA Board members and Officers for their positive input
for the communities and encouraged continue to show the positive attitude
and expressed special thanks to the volunteers for the communities work.
KWA shared Korean Rice Cakes and joined dance and sing along time together
and had a great time with them. It was special day for them.
The Korean Women's Association offers Asian/Pacific Senior Mealsites.
KWA's services are available to multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and /
or limited English speaking Asian immigrants, Pacific Islanders, and
since 1987, to the general public. KWA welcome any and all in need.
