served Brunch to the Tacoma Ministers' Prayer Group in June 5th, 2006.
KWA President, Yon Chong Eigelbach opened Welcome remarks. KWA Board Vice Chair Young Sil Jaqua introduced KWA Resources & Shelters and WAF We are Family. About 16 ministers participated this event: Ministers are: Lee Kyong Ho, OK MIn Kwon, Kim Sam Jung, Cho Hwae Do, Hong Samuel, Joo Wan Suk, An Ji Young, Chong Tae Kun, Park Young Kyu, Yun Young Joo, Park Chang Gap, yoo Young Sik, Kim Choon Ja, and Lee Hee Dok. WAF offers to all eligigible residents of Pierce County and the City of Tacoma the following: Outreach activities in the communities using bilingual workers to increase an awareness and understanding of domestic violence and how it impacts families. Family education sessions that are culturally appropriate to address parenting issues in order to achieve violence free homes. Bilingual counseling and advocacy for individuals as well as their families. Referrals for immediate needed assistance and resources. Support group for sexual assault victims. It is positive to see that Korean Women's Association have a great resources and shelters for the WAF program. After Brunch, City of Federal Way Mayor Mike Park visited and introduced Han Woo Ri event. The Korean Women's Association of Washington has emerged as the area leader in innovative programs designed to enhance the quality of life for a Northwest minority citizens since 1970.
