Women's Association of Washington's 2007 Inaugural Ceremony was
given in January 18, 2007 at 6:00 PM, at the KWA Community Center,
123 East 96th St,Tacoma, Washington. KWA could not exist without the senior board members hard work and the comunity and business leaders support who over the past 34 years of its existence spent so very many hours building a solid foundation that is what you see here today." KWA is expending the organization and now KWA is able to continue to build on a greater dream." Special Thanks to The KWA Board and Board Chair Jong Dameron, KWA Executive Director, Faaluaina Pritchard, officers, and Business, Community Leaders, Consul General, Kwon Chan Ho, Senator Paull Shin, Mayor Michael Park, State Senators, officials and Washington State Governor Christine O. Gregoire. KWA continues to improve the Korean American Community; helping to transform lives for the better. KWA is providing the Korean American Community with opportunities to apply its many talents and resources in education as well as extending global support around the world. This last year KWA has expended in to two more Washington counties; Jefferson and Grays Harbor. With this addition, KWA now has a presence in a total of nine Washington counties (they are: Pierce, King, Louis, Mason, Thurston, Clallam, Snohomish, Jefferson and Grays Harbor Counties). This means KWA continues to provide plenty of job opportunities; which returns economic resources in its surrounding areas. There are especially openings for "In Home Care Services". It is open to anyone to apply or refer a qualified individual by phoning the KWA office during regular business hours ( 1 - 888 - 508 - 2780, or 253- 535-4202 ). It is proud to say that KWA has enriched our society with a unique culture and spirit. There are important roles for Korean Amerians in this community as we expand our services and support in the 21st century. KWA Board Chair, Jong Dameron addressed that the KWA is continues to work for the Governor Chris Gregoire's fund available towards the new project to develop 60 plus senior low income apartments, a child daycare, and community services for 7th floor building in Federal Way. Ground breaking is scheduled for 2010. This is a $15 million project. The Korean Women's Association is an inspiration as it makes a positive connection in the community and expends that inspiration to the world. It is growing intellectual support, moving forward to achieve a vision of a healthy environment, developing and mentoring by connecting with business and community leaders. This year, KWA will be visiting the homelesses, providing health seminars, teaching basic computer skills, producing a community photo expose, engaging in roundtable discussions with the community leaders, and hosting a college scholarship essay contest. Just to name a few of our many planned activities. KWA is well known in Washington State but there are many people who still do not know about the 22 plus programs that we have. As we move forward this year, we will continue to reach out to the people and inform them of our superior offerings and services. I would like to thank you all for your inspiration and uplifting support of our organization. Thank you in advance for your continued support in 2007. The Inaugural Ceremony closed with Elder (KAC Advisory Board Chair) Joshep Hong's prayer for the KWA's continuous success and a prosperous year 2007 and for all. I
wish for you and your families a special blessing and a wonderful,
as well as prosperous 2007. Thank you and God Bless You. |
