"Most importantly for your love and will value and will never stop and somewhere else I will help and somewhere else I will partner and from somewhere else I will continue to make sure that Korean Women's Association live long and lives healthy. Korean Women's Association "May God Bless You". Lua appreciated to the special guests Senator Rosa Franklyn, other representatives and community leaders. Gracefully, Lua offered her favorite Korean Folk song for Farewell "Arirang" and Lua performed Samoans favor "Money Dance" for the Samoans friends and family, KWA staff, guests, KWA Board members' and received farewell greetings by Lua while Lua performed Samoans Money Dance. It was tearful and emotional moment. Lua's legacy will remain for KWA and KWA will continue their journey to serving community and connection to the world as a service nonprofit organization. The KWA served since 1972. Lua started Administration Assistant for KWA 19 years ago and she has promoted Korean Women's Association Executive Director for 13 years ago. Since her leadership, The Korean Women's Association has changed and expended global. The
KWA in Home Care Program has been aggressively developed since Lua
has joined management. Her leadership has led In home care, like the
other KWA service program, is one of the essential service to those
clients who need it in our community. Especially, the Alzheimer disease.
KWA's care giver service is very seriously and kind and care with
their heart and soul. The KWA In Home Care program has a total of
nearly 800 caregivers serving about 1,000 clients which run by Program
Manager, a program Assistant, Supervisors and office personnel. The KWA employees 1000 and currently runs many programs include: General Referral Assistance, Domestic violence/Sexal Assault Intervention Services, Legal Aid Referrals, Job Referrals, Korean Library, English as a Second Language (ESL)classes, Asian Pacific Senior Meal Sites, In Home Care, Chore Services, Title XIX Medicaid Personal Care, In Home care COPES, In Home CARE Private Pay, Community Education, Health/Nutrition Education recreational Activities, Asian Pacific Alzheimers Demonstration Project, Asian Pacifc Senior Day Care : extension of Asian Pacific Alzheimers Demo Project, We Are Family (WAF) - Domestic Violence Services, Youth ALOT (Active Leaders of Tommorw), Naturalization / Immigration Assistance, Pacific Villa Apartments, Basic Food Outreach-Pierce County, Community Health Care Services, WAF Home-DV Emergency Shelter, SHIBA- Insurance outreach, Basic Food Outreach- King County & Skagit County, Orchard Project, International Place Apartments,Senior City Apartments, and Olympus Hotel. Board of Chair, Sul Ja Warnick mentioned that Lua Pritchard has done so much and grew so big organization with her dedication and passionate love of KWA and Board of Chair , Sulja Warnick announced that State Rep. Jeannie Darnielle will be the Interim Executive director effective July 1st, 2009. She was referred by Liz Heath of Nonprofit center. She will be serving KWA Thru the end of October 2009. Stated that we all are lost because of she is leaving although she will be supporting KWA as much as expectation as an executive Director for a two months. Frank Hagle and Associates will help search for the permanent Executive Director. KWA president Susan Ko stated that hope that Lua Pritchard will take care of her health and hopefully and will return KWA someday with good health. Many are appreciate Lua's 19 years of service for KWA and her legacy will remain in our heart …….
